Soufriere is one of the least densely populated regions of St. Lucia, is very mountainous and heavily forested. However the region, located in the southern part of St. Lucia, is an extremely popular tourist destination and possesses St. Lucia’s prominent landmarks - the twin mountains called the Pitons which rise over 2,000 feet - and also Mount Soufrière which has been billed as the world’s only drive-in volcano. The town of Soufrière is located along the coastline and is primarily a fishing community.

Tip:When driving to Soufriere, the western coast of the island though more circuitous, offers more spectacular views than the east coast of the island.
